Check out what our Instructors say about working for STEM-U

"I recently graduated from Ohio State as a middle childhood education major with areas of concentration in math and science. Mathematically, I always thought that I had an understanding of how math works and approaches that could be used to teach it. However, it wasn’t until I was introduced to STEM-U, that I realized that some of my strategies, ideas, and perspectives on math were not as developed as I had hoped. STEM-U introduced me to curriculum, approaches to teaching, activities, and tools that could help my students achieve at a high level. Seeing how students are able to problem-solve and critically think at any age helped me change my perspective on how I approach the classroom, activities, and math in general. I have a firm belief that if it were not for STEM-U and my co-workers here, I would not have landed the teaching position I have in today." -- Brendan Walsh

"Hey there! My name is Amanda Kallach and I am a recent graduate from the Ohio State University! I graduated in May with my teaching license specializing in middle grades math and science. All my life math and science were the subjects I enjoyed the most and the subjects that clicked with me. Before STEM-U, I was only exposed to the traditional ways of teaching math. Since working for STEM-U, I have learned and mastered new teaching activities, strategies, and tools that can enhance learning with math in and out of the classroom. STEM-U has helped me learn ways to challenge my students to encourage them to problem solve and think critically. STEM-U has helped me develop into a better math and all-around teacher. With STEM and technology becoming much more relevant and important, it has been an amazing experience getting to learn about it, with it, and how to use it to make learning more fun, engaging and relevant to my students."
